A fresh team led by Erwin Paierl, who is the manager of Hotel Thermenhof Paierl at Bad Waltersdorf, supported by Charlotte Kaltschmidt, manager of Hotel zum Dom at Graz and Christoph Brandstätter, manager of Seehotel Jägerwirt at Turracher Höhe takes the leadership role of the Styrian Austrian union of hoteliers.
This new team presented its priority programme during the Styrian Event at Hotel Falkensteiner Asia Spa at Leoben. This programme consists of internationalism, mobility of the guests and, in this context, transport systems as well as the decree regarding the spring break, which is of vital importance in Oberösterreich. Erwin Paierl, new chairman of the Styrian Austrian union of hoteliers, delivered an effective speech: “Potential guests from upcoming counties, such as Central Europe and Eastern Europe, have already been fancied by this beautiful country Styria. However, due to the recent economic decline the situation has dramatically changed and the guests have stayed at home. It can be seen as our job to attract them back to our country,” Paierl stated.
In order to enter new markets and attract international guests to Styria it were of crucial importance to establish efficient air connections as well as long-lasting and innovative concepts of low cost carriers.
The focus had to be shifted to Graz.
In fact, the Styrian Austrian union of hoteliers had already supported the tourism of Graz before it took office. “Tourism can be seen as a symbiosis between various sections of economy, society and culture. Consequently, we need to form an apolitical group of representatives of all these branches in order to pursue the interests of Graz similar to Vienna,” Paierl suggested.
